Karina studied piano with Amanda Chan, M.Mus, B.Mus. F.T.C.L. A.R.C.T., for 8 years. She entered
numerous festivals and RCM examinations in which she received ranking places and continous high marks such as
First Class Honours with Distinction.
In addition to piano, Karina was a member of her high school jazz band, wind ensemble and choir in which she played the
clarinet, and tenor sax. She has performed in jazz ensembles for special events and also to raise
money for BC Children's Hospital.
In 2005, Karina began spreading her love of music by teaching piano to young students. Her teaching career has
since expanded and many of her students have received high rankings in festivals, as well as First
Class Honours with Distinction and First Class Honours in RCM exams.
In June 2008 and 2009 Karina performed alongside her sisters in benefit concerts for the Red Cross and BC
Children's Hospital. These concerts '2 Pianos 4 Sisters 8 Hands' raised a total of around $3000. In Spring 2010 and 2011, she co-produced and directed Pride and Prejudice: the Musical, and The Musical Importance of Being
Earnest, and A Midsummer Night's
Musical which raised $1,800 and $2,500 and $2,800 for BC Children's Hospital and the Centre for Child
Karina is a BComm Graduate from the UBC Sauder School of Business where she majored in Accounting.
